The instructional philosophy, methodological commitments, and intellectual property framework that underpins every resource, engine, and encounter on this site.
“The teacher who hoards their pedagogy to protect institutional investment has already surrendered the craft. The teacher who publishes it openly builds a practice that outlasts any single employer.”
For every year I have taught—Years 7 through 12, mainstream and ATAR, academic extension and Power of Speech—I have generated curriculum materials, slide architectures, diagnostic engines, and analytic frameworks that did not exist before I made them. The institutional default is to absorb this labour into the school’s intellectual commons and constrain the teacher’s ongoing claim to it.
LessPlan is the counter-architecture. Every tool here is built to be portable, public, and persistently mine. Students get it for free. Peers get it for free. But the pedagogy carries its provenance.
A high-stimulus prompt is on screen before the bell. No settling-in grace period, no admin warm-up. Students enter a room already in intellectual gear. The ELA Quick Starter engine on the front page is the digital form of this practice.
I model the analytical move or writing technique in front of the class—wrong drafts, revisions, and all—before students attempt it. The scratchpad in the Quick Starter widget is the public trace of this practice.
Students earn the analytical vocabulary before applying it. Every starter embeds a metalanguage term in context. You cannot write “the trochaic substitution performs theological urgency” until you know what a trochee is and why urgency is the right noun.
Every challenge includes a sentence frame that lowers activation energy without lowering the intellectual standard. Students who need it use it; students who do not use it as a springboard to diverge from. The scaffold is never the answer.
ATAR Literature and senior English students rotate Marxist, Feminist, Psychoanalytic, and Post-Colonial lenses across every major text. No single reading is neutral. The Panopticon engine is built around this exact rotation.
Power of Speech students drill diaphragmatic breath control, deliberate physical stance, conscious pause, and the anti-greeting opening gambit before they write a single word. Oratory is bodily discipline, not just rhetorical arrangement.
A plain account of how this site handles IP.
The OneDrive architecture is deliberate. Shared folder links are revocable at my discretion and remain under my personal OneDrive account. Materials can be updated, expanded, or restructured at any time. The link stays live as long as I choose. No LMS, no institutional gatekeeper, no expiry tied to a school employment contract.
